Planets

 The Planets

As the earth travels through her annual cycle, she is accompanied in harmony with all the other planets of our solar system. They all have an important influence on each other.

Jyotish Astrology or the Science of Light, as practiced in India, is the study of these planetary influences. I hesitate to present these attributes as this is a blog of the celestial Zodiac. This Indian science is a wonderful study all in itself. Look below to find a rudimentary planetary chart. I offer in each monthly blog a vedic comment for each Zodiac sign.

Other Planets in Important Star Clusters

Following is a list of star clusters that have been known to influence humanity and our planet, physically, psychically, in the etheric.

1. The Big Dipper (big bear) constellation
It is the dragon with seven heads of the Egyptians and in India: the seven Grand Rishis. It sweeps and clears out  the solar system cyclically , it is of  masculine polarization.

2. The Seven Sisters of the Pleiades
These are the seven wives of the seven Rishis in the Big Dipper. Also called the seven sisters, they are found in the constellation of Taurus, just inside the Milky Way, and represent (Alcyone especially) the central point around which our Universe of fixed stars is spinning. They are the opposing feminine force to Brahma known as Mahatmaya.

3. The Dog Star, Sirius
This is the source of all Manas (chi), of feminine polarization, which influences us psychically and the original dwelling of the Great White Brotherhood.

4. The Seven Sacred Planets:
Mercury, Mars, Venus, Saturn. Jupiter, Moon and the Sun

The Moon

Our moon is the planet closest to the earth, often thought of as feminine and adored by peoples throughout the ages. In each chapter of a Zodiac sign you will find Native American and Wiccan calendar references for lunar magical work.

The moon has four noticeable stages due to the shadow image from the sun that the earth casts on it. They are Full, waning, new and waxing.

The moon plays an important part in our work. If you see the moon and it forms the arc of a D it is increasing or a waxing moon, going towards full, and if you see a C, it is a waning moon going toward a new moon or no visible moon.

While the moon is waxing everything grows bigger, crops, hair and plants. While the moon wanes,  all stops for a time. Tides are higher in a full moon cycle . High tide is the most significant time for crime. A study of over a thousand admissions to a mental hospital in Ohio has shown that a high number of people were admitted when the Moon was full (highest in the sky.). Before the advent of chemical contraception, maternity wards once knew when they would be busiest.

As women already know, there is a parallel of our menses with the lunar cycle. We also know the influence of a full moon on our psyche. The moon has sway over us. We can take this into consideration for sowing seeds, getting haircuts, and important life events such as weddings and buying homes. One of the oldest calendars in the world was recently found, it marked a clear 28 day cycle. Scientists said that this was the first attempt by man to calculate the moon cycle – what do you think ladies?

In the present Aquarian age more of humanity will begin to embrace the Full Sun/Moon festivals. These have no dogma connected with them. During these times our evolutionary journey will be accelerated.
